Accessibility statement
This statement applies to content published on the campaign.gov.uk domain. It does not apply to content on service.gov.uk subdomains (for example, www.registertovote.service.gov.uk) or on GOV.UK
This website is run by the Government Digital Service. It is designed to be used by as many people as possible. The text should be clear and simple to understand. You should be able to:
- zoom in up to 300% without problems
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- use most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We have also made the website content as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible.
The main menu items do not use clear colour contrast when in the keyboard focus state. This may make it difficult for some keyboard users and users with low vision to identify which navigation item is currently selected.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility
The Government Digital Service is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Navigation menu focus contrast
The main navigation menu does not provide sufficient colour contrast when menu items receive keyboard focus. Users who navigate using a keyboard may find it difficult to identify the currently focused menu item.
This fails:
- WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 1.4.11 (Non-text Contrast)
- WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 2.4.7 (Focus Visible)
We are working with contractors to ensure selection of accessible colour combinations in the main menu is available in the next iteration of this platform.
Disproportionate burden
No disproportionate burden claims have been made at this time.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
Any PDFs or downloadable documents published before 23 September 2018 that are not essential to providing our services may not be fully accessible. Where new documents are published, we aim to ensure they meet accessibility standards.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
We are working with contractors to ensure selection of accessible colour combinations in the main menu is available in the next iteration of this platform.
